Moyale Barracks Volleyball Team has triumphed in the men’s category of the K25 million 2024 Raiply National Volleyball Tournament, defeating Blue Eagles Volleyball Team 3-0 in the thrilling final match held at Katoto Secondary School Sports Complex in Mzuzu on Sunday.
Moyale secured their spot in the final with a hard-fought 3-1 semi-final victory over defending champions Wolves, while Eagles outplayed Lilongwe Spikers 3-2.
In a post-match interview, Moyale Barracks coach Aubrey Mpeyama expressed his team’s tactical prowess.
He said:”It was a great day; the boys executed our tactical plan flawlessly, and Blue Eagles struggled to keep up. We’re overjoyed.”
Blue Eagles coach Rumbani Mkandawire graciously conceded by simply saying:”Today just was not our day.”
In the ladies’ category, Vixens claimed the title with a convincing 3-1 win over Blue Eagles.
The final match was played in the presence of the esteemed guest of honour, Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) president Bouchra Hajij.
